Carlsbad Wedding Photography: Venues, Beaches, and What to Know
June 7, 2026Drone footage transforms wedding galleries — a single aerial shot of your ceremony site can be the most dramatic image of your entire wedding. Here is what Southern California couples need to know.
What Drone Wedding Photography Adds
- Sweeping aerial views of your ceremony and venue
- Cinematic landscape shots of SoCal backdrops — vineyards, cliffs, ocean coastline
- Unique couple portraits from above showing the full environment
- Dramatic reveal shots for wedding films
Do You Need FAA Approval for Drone Wedding Photos?
Yes — in most cases. Drone operators must hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for commercial work. Many locations also require prior airspace authorization. Always confirm your photographer is FAA licensed before booking drone coverage. AlphaRes Studio operates exclusively with FAA-certified pilots.
Where Are Drones NOT Allowed?
- Within 5 miles of San Diego International Airport (SAN) without authorization
- Over crowds or moving vehicles
- National Parks — Torrey Pines State Reserve requires a special permit
- Some private venues prohibit drones in their vendor contracts
Best SoCal Venues for Drone Wedding Coverage
- Temecula wine country vineyards
- Rancho Santa Fe estate properties
- Oceanside and Carlsbad coastal venues
- Inland Empire mountain venues
- Coronado Beach and the Silver Strand
Cost of Drone Coverage at AlphaRes Studio
