What to Expect From Your Engagement Session With Alphares Studio
June 7, 2026A single aerial drone shot at the right moment can be the most impactful frame in your entire wedding film — a wide establishing shot of your venue nestled in the Temecula hills, or a bird-eye view of you and your partner on a Coronado beach. Here is everything you need to know about drone wedding videography in San Diego.
What Drone Coverage Adds to Your Wedding Film
- Venue reveal shots: Sweeping drone approaches that establish the grandeur of your location before the ceremony even begins
- Aerial couple portraits: Top-down and low-pass shots that place you in your environment — tiny figures against a vast Pacific horizon or surrounded by rows of Temecula vines
- Ceremony coverage from above: Overhead views of the aisle walk, vow exchange, or first kiss that no ground camera can replicate
- Property scale: For estate and resort venues, aerial footage communicates the full scope in a way impossible from ground level
FAA Requirements for Wedding Drone Videography
Commercial drone operation in the United States requires:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required for all commercial work)
- Airspace authorization via FAA LAANC system where required
- Flight altitude must remain under 400 feet above ground
- No flight over people not involved in the operation without waiver
Always verify that your videographer holds an active FAA Part 107 certificate. This is not optional — unlicensed commercial drone operation is a federal violation. Alphares Studio operates with FAA-certified drone pilots on all aerial shoots.
